It's a delicious vinegar, a bit sweet at first, with the sharpness following through at the end with a definite citrus zing - really tasty. Would definitely recommend. It's sometimes a bit tricky to both eat healthily and make something tasty, especially at the end of the week when you are faced with that last piece of unidentified veg from the veg-box, but this vinegar transformed a fennel and orange salad into something really special (after I had successfully identified it as fennel and then googled for recipes, obviously).
I picked up a little bottle of this in a deli and it was love!
I knew I wanted more and thankfully found Rupert’s beautiful site and buy in the largest volume possible now.
How is vinegar so varied, delicate and interesting? It is great for me as I am not allowed to eat salt and so use this vinegar all the time instead. It’s lovely added to rice sauces, anything. It never overwhelms and adds depth of flavour. A real treasure of British cuisine
There is no better vinegar in the world for me than this Orange-Mace. I love it for many, many years. Since I found out Womersley ships to Austria, I use it literally by the liter and daily, it’s constantly great. I truly love all of the Womersley vinegars, because they are more than vinegar, they are an important ingredient that motivates my creativity in cooking. My guests are often astounded by the taste of my food and I have to admit then, it’s the addition of some Womersley vinegar that made the taste so superior.
Delicious addition to salads and as a dip for bread. Was starting to worry about reaching the end of the bottle I bought at a food fair earlier in the year and have been rationing it☺️. Relieved to find it is sold online and have a second bottle on the way!
